Create or update a HubSpot contact for every lead, matched on the e-mail address, with the fields you choose.

What you need

  • A HubSpot account in which you can create a private app.
  • A Tafsee Popup plan that includes CRM tools. See the pricing page.
  • In Tafsee Popup: a role that can manage integrations.

1. In HubSpot

  1. In HubSpot, create a private app and give it the scope crm.objects.contacts.write.
  2. Copy the app's access token. It starts with pat-.

2. In Tafsee Popup

  1. Open Integrations and find HubSpot. Use the search box or the category tabs.
  2. Click Connect. If the button reads Upgrade to connect, your plan does not include this tool.
  3. Fill in the form:
  • Private app access token: the token you copied.
  • Account name: optional. A name to tell your accounts apart.
  1. Click Connect. What you enter is stored encrypted and is used only to deliver your leads.
  2. A window asks which campaigns send leads to HubSpot. Tick them and click Save campaigns.

New campaigns are not added by themselves. Come back here, or add this integration in the campaign's Publish step.

What is sent

  • A contact, created or updated by its e-mail address.
  • The properties email, firstname, lastname, phone and company when the lead has them.
  • Each row you add under What to send, sent to the HubSpot property you name. Use the property's internal name, in small letters.

Choose what to send

This tool uses the table What to send of each campaign. Open the campaign's Publish step, find the row Leads go to your email tool and click Manage, then Edit on the tool.

  • The first row, E-mail address, is always sent and cannot be changed.
  • Click Add a row to send a form answer or a detail about the sign-up: Campaign name, Website, Page address, Country, Device, Code given or Consent time.
  • Click Add a fixed value to send the same text with every lead.
  • Before saving, the app tells you if two rows go to the same field or a row has nothing to send.

Test it

  1. Open a campaign that is connected to this tool, go to its Publish step and click Send test lead.
  2. The window shows each tool and whether it took the lead. A test lead is clearly marked, never counts in your numbers and is flagged in the leads list.
  3. Look in HubSpot for the test contact.

What you should see

The card shows Connected and the number of campaigns. New leads carry Delivered in the leads list, and appear in HubSpot.

If it does not work

  • "That key looks too short." Paste the whole access token.
  • The tool did not let us in: the private app was deleted, or it lacks the scope crm.objects.contacts.write.
  • The tool refused this lead: a row goes to a property that does not exist in HubSpot, or a value is in a form the property does not accept. Check the rows.
  • The card says Upgrade to connect: your plan does not include CRM tools.
  • No campaign sends leads here yet, so nothing will arrive. Click Choose campaigns.
  • A lead is marked Failed: open it to read what the tool answered, fix the cause, then click Send again. See Lead delivery and Send again.
