Phone settings
Check the phone preview, give the popup its own width, padding and text size on phones, hide a block on phones, and pass the phone check before going live.
Most shoppers browse on a phone. A popup adapts to a small screen by itself, and you can adjust a few things for phones only.
See it on a phone
In Design, click Show mobile. A phone preview appears beside the computer one. The note under it says Fits on a phone or Something spills off the phone screen. Shorten the text or narrow the popup.
What changes by itself on a phone
- The popup is as wide as the phone allows.
- A form's fields are stacked, one under the other.
- A slide-in becomes a sheet at the bottom of the screen.
- Padding is capped so content keeps its room.
Values for phones only
Open the Theme settings and find the settings marked Phones. Switch on Use a different value on phones for the one you want:
- Width on phones: Off: the popup is as wide as the phone allows, as before.
- Padding on phones: Off: phones use the padding above, capped at 22 px.
- Text size: Headlines and texts on phones, as a share of their size on computers. Text never goes below the readable minimum.
Hide a block on phones
Click the block, open Advanced and switch on Hide on mobile. It still shows on computers and tablets.
Do not hide the form on phones. Phone visitors would see the popup but could not sign up.
Show a campaign on phones only, or not at all
That is a rule, not a design setting. In Where & when, under On which devices?, choose Phones only or Computers only. See Show when: the three questions.
The phone check before going live
The Publish step has the check Fits on a phone. If it fails: Part of the design spills off a phone screen. Fix it in the builder's mobile view before you go live. Click Check on phone.
If it does not work
- Something spills off the screen: shorten the text or narrow the popup.
- The text is too small or too large on phones: set Text size.
- Exit intent never fires on phones: see Exit-intent popups.
