Audience rules show the right message to the right person: new or returning, customers, people who already signed up, or values your site passes in.
The conditions
- New or returning: First visit or returning visitor.
- Number of visits: How many visits this visitor has made to your site, this one included.
- Customer: Whether this visitor has placed an order before (reported by purchase tracking from this browser).
- Already signed up: Whether this visitor has signed up through any campaign on this site.
- Cookie: A cookie on your site, matched by name and value.
- Custom attribute: A value your site passes to Tafsee.
- Another campaign: Show after a visitor sees, closes or converts on another campaign.
Where to find them
- Open a campaign in the editor and go to Where & when.
- The common choices are in the three questions. For the rest, open Targeting rules and click Edit rules.
- Click Add condition, search or browse the list, and pick the condition. They are grouped as When, Who and Where.
- Read the summary: it says in one sentence when the campaign will show.
Good to know
- New, returning, the number of visits and "already signed up" are remembered in the visitor's browser, for your website only. A visitor on another device or after clearing their browser data is new again. See Privacy and data.
- Custom attribute reads values your site passes with TafseePopup.identify(). See JavaScript API.
- Cookie reads a cookie of your own site by its name.
- Another campaign makes a sequence: show an offer only to people who saw, closed or signed up on another campaign, or to people who did not.
- Campaigns cannot target a saved segment of leads. Segments group leads you already have; these rules decide which visitors see a campaign.
