Software for logistics companies in Dammam

The Eastern Province has ports, industrial cities and a long list of warehouses. Tafsee Logistics is software for the teams that receive goods for customers there and deliver them around Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran and Jubail.

What Tafsee is, and what it is not

Searches for a logistics company in Dammam, a freight company in Dammam or a warehouse for rent in Dammam are searches for companies. Tafsee is software, not one of those companies. Tafsee Logistics is what the warehouse, the 3PL or the delivery company uses to run its own receiving, storage and delivery. Tafsee does not rent warehouses, carry goods or clear customs.

The Dammam area as a logistics region

King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam is a main sea gateway for the Eastern Province, and King Fahd International Airport serves air cargo for the area. Around the city, the Dammam industrial cities hold many warehouses and workshops that store goods for factories, importers, shops and online stores. The neighbouring cities of Khobar and Dhahran are close, and Jubail, with its industrial sector, is a longer drive up the coast. Businesses in Dammam often serve all of them from one warehouse.

Within Dammam, deliveries run to districts such as Al Faisaliyah, Al Shatea, Al Adamah, Al Nur and Al Badiyah, and across to Khobar districts. Customers look for a delivery driver in Dammam, in Khobar or in Jubail, and the businesses that supply those drivers need a clear plan for who covers what.

Splitting the area into delivery areas: an example

A warehouse in one of the Dammam industrial cities that delivers to shops and homes might divide its week like this:

  • Dammam city: Al Faisaliyah, Al Shatea, Al Adamah, Al Nur
  • Khobar and Dhahran: the districts of both cities on one trip
  • Jubail: a longer trip, planned on its own days

In Tafsee Logistics the office sets these delivery areas in Settings and records the city and district on each customer address. Ready for Dispatch then groups the approved lots by district and suggests trips so a driver covers one area. A trip can be moved to another day before it starts, which suits a Jubail run that goes out on a fixed day.

Receiving

In New Arrival the team records the sender, the customer who owns the goods, the way the goods arrived and the number of packages. A truck from another city, a container from the port or an agent's drop-off are all recorded in the same way. Each package gets a barcode, printed on A4 sheets or 100 × 50 mm thermal labels.

Storing and counting

Dammam warehouses are often large. Zones and racks divide a warehouse into zones such as A, COLD or YARD and racks with codes such as A-01-02, with an optional capacity in packages. A lot is moved by scanning the rack code, and the stock count mode lets a worker scan the packages on a rack and see what is missing or unexpected. Only goods physically in the warehouse are counted.

Holds

Goods that wait for customs, documents or payment can be held with a reason, and they do not appear on the dispatch list until every hold is released and the lot is approved. Tafsee records the hold; any customs clearance is done by whoever handles it for your customer, and Tafsee is not connected to a customs system.

Delivering

A trip has a driver, a vehicle and stops. The app checks the vehicle's capacity, warns above 90 percent and blocks above 100 percent unless a reason is given. The driver scans the packages onto the van, accepts them in the driver app, and finishes each stop with the customer's 4-digit code or a signature. Vehicles carry their documents with expiry dates, such as registration, insurance, operating card and periodic inspection, and an expired document blocks new trips. See drivers and vehicles.

Addresses in the Eastern Province

A customer in Khobar or Jubail may give the national address only as a short address. Tafsee Logistics keeps the building number, postal code, additional number and short address in their own fields, with an optional map pin, so the driver does not have to ask twice. See the guide to the Saudi national address.
