Want the timer in a popup that collects emails?
Tafsee Popup's countdown layout adds exit intent, scheduling, targeting, A/B tests and lead capture — free to start.
How to add the countdown timer to your website
- Choose when the countdown ends and write a short headline, such as “White Friday ends in”.
- Pick colours that match your store and choose English or Arabic labels.
- Click Copy embed code and paste it where you want the timer: a custom HTML block in WordPress, a Custom Liquid section in Shopify, an Embed element in Webflow, or any HTML page.
Where a countdown timer works best
- Above the fold on a sale landing page, so the deadline is the first thing shoppers see.
- On product pages during a limited offer, next to the price.
- In an announcement bar across the whole store — see floating and announcement bars.
- In a popup that pairs the deadline with a discount code — see countdown timer popups.
Keep the deadline honest
A countdown only builds trust when the deadline is real. Don't reset the timer for every visitor or extend an offer that said it was ending; shoppers notice, and it undermines every future sale. Use a fixed end date for store-wide campaigns like Ramadan offers or White Friday.
What the free timer doesn't do
The free timer is a simple inline widget. It doesn't target visitors, show on exit intent, collect emails or run A/B tests. For that, the countdown layout in Tafsee Popup adds 39 trigger rules, scheduling that starts and stops campaigns automatically, and lead capture that syncs to your email tool or CRM.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. The generator runs in your browser and the embed code is yours to use on any site, with no account and no limit on views.
You set the end time in your own time zone and the code stores it as an exact moment, so every visitor counts down to the same instant wherever they are.
You can paste it anywhere your store accepts custom HTML — for example a Custom Liquid section in Shopify. If your platform doesn't allow inline HTML, use Tafsee Popup's countdown layout instead; it installs with one script.
The timer shows your “ended” message instead of zeros. Remember to remove or update it once the offer is over.
