For Wix sites
A Wix countdown timer, announcement bar and popups from one snippet
Tell visitors about the offer, show them how long it lasts, and keep their contact details.
A Wix countdown timer and an announcement bar do a simple job for a small business: they tell everyone who lands on the site that something is on, and when it ends. Tafsee Popup adds both to a Wix site, along with popups that collect an email or a phone number, through one snippet in Wix's Custom Code setting.
Tafsee Popup
What you get
Countdown timer
Set an end date and time, and show the timer in a bar or a popup.
Announcement bar
Opening hours, a seasonal offer or a booking link, pinned to the top or bottom.
Spin to win and games
Spin wheel, scratch card and slot machine templates are on every plan, Free included.
Phone-friendly rules
Target by device, and use exit intent that also works on mobile.
Leads in a Google Sheet
No CRM needed. Send each sign-up to a sheet or a Slack channel.
Install check
One click confirms the code is on your site, and diagnostics explain a popup that does not show.
How to install it on Wix
Start with the requirement, because it decides whether this will work for you: Wix offers custom code on a Premium plan with a connected domain. A site on the free Wix plan, or one without its own domain, has no Custom Code setting to paste into.
If your site qualifies, the steps are:
- In Tafsee Popup, add your website and click Show install code.
- In the Wix dashboard, open Settings, then Custom Code (under Advanced).
- Click + Add Custom Code and paste the snippet.
- Choose All pages, Load code once, and place it in Body - end.
- Click Apply, then go back to Tafsee Popup and click Check my site.
If a popup shows on one page only, the code was added for a single page. Set it to All pages. Tafsee Popup is added this way, not as an app from the Wix App Market.
A Wix countdown timer and announcement bar that stay honest
A timer works when the deadline is true. A restaurant's Ramadan set menu that ends on a date, early-bird pricing for a course, the last day to order before a holiday: these are real, and a countdown makes them concrete. A timer that restarts for every visitor teaches customers to ignore you.
- Put the countdown timer in a slim bar so it is visible on every page without covering anything.
- Add a date range rule so the bar disappears when the offer ends. An expired timer left on a site looks worse than no timer.
- Use the bar on its own for plain announcements: new opening hours, a second branch, free delivery over a certain amount. See floating bars.
- Give the bar one button. "Book now" or "See the menu" is enough.
Need a timer for a single page and nothing else? The free countdown timer generator gives you a small embed code with no sign-up.
Wix popups worth setting up first
Small businesses rarely need ten campaigns. Three cover most of it, and three is what the Free plan allows live at once.
- A contact popup. Ask for an email, or a phone number if your customers prefer WhatsApp, with clear wording about what you will send. Read more on WhatsApp popups and lead generation.
- An exit-intent offer. One last reason to stay, shown as the visitor leaves. It works on phones too, which is where most small-business traffic is.
- A seasonal game. A spin-to-win wheel or a scratch card for a holiday weekend. Keep prizes modest and real.
Set a frequency cap on each so a regular customer does not meet the same popup on every page.
Getting the leads somewhere useful
A lead that sits in a dashboard nobody opens is not worth collecting. Decide where you will actually look before publishing.
- Google Sheets if one person follows up by hand.
- Slack if the team should see each enquiry as it arrives.
- Mailchimp or Klaviyo if you send a newsletter.
- Zapier for anything else.
All of these are on the Free plan. HubSpot and Zoho CRM are on Pro and above. Every lead is saved in Tafsee first and retried if delivery fails, and you can export a CSV at any time.
Price, and where it stops
The Free plan is $0 for 1 website, 3 live campaigns and 500 leads a month, with unlimited visitors and a small Tafsee badge. Starter is $9 a month and removes the badge. Paid plans have a 14-day trial. Compare them on pricing.
The limits, plainly:
- It needs Wix Custom Code, so a Premium plan and a connected domain. Without those, the script cannot be installed.
- If you cannot add code, a hosted page campaign still works. It lives on its own link, which you can share in a bio, a QR code or a message, but it does not appear on your Wix site.
- Inline embeds need a line of HTML in the page itself. On Wix, plan on popups, bars and slide-ins, which need no placement.
- The "Adds to cart" rule is built for Salla, Zid, Shopify and WooCommerce buttons, not Wix Stores. Target the cart page by URL instead.
Frequently asked questions
In Tafsee Popup, pick a bar or popup template with a countdown, or add the countdown block to your design, and set the end date and time. Then add your install code in Wix under Settings, Custom Code, set to All pages, Load code once and Body - end. Publish the campaign and the timer appears on the pages you chose.
It is not an app from the Wix App Market. It is added through Wix's Custom Code setting as one snippet, and campaigns are built and managed in the Tafsee app.
Not on the site itself. Wix offers custom code on a Premium plan with a connected domain, and the snippet needs that. On a free Wix site you can still use a hosted page campaign with its own shareable link.
The site is on a free plan or has no connected domain. Custom Code appears under Settings, in the Advanced group, once both are in place.
Yes. Keep the code on All pages in Wix, then use the page URL rule in Tafsee Popup to choose where the bar shows. You can also limit it by device, date range or new and returning visitors.
The Free plan covers 1 website, 3 live campaigns and 500 leads a month. Paid plans start at $9 a month with a 14-day trial. Plans are not priced by pageviews. Your Wix Premium plan is billed separately by Wix.
