Floating bars
A free shipping bar that tells shoppers the threshold before checkout
One line, on every page, so nobody discovers the delivery fee at the last step.
A free shipping bar is a thin strip at the top or bottom of the store that states your offer, for example "Free delivery on orders over SAR 199". With Tafsee Popup you add it by pasting one script, and choose where and to whom it shows. One limit to know before you start: it is a message bar. It does not read the basket total, so it is not a live free shipping progress bar that counts down the amount left.

What a free shipping bar does for a store
Delivery cost is one of the first things shoppers want to know and one of the last things many stores tell them. A fee that appears at checkout is a common reason for an abandoned order. A bar that states the rule on every page removes the surprise.
It also gives shoppers a target. Someone with a basket just under the threshold has a reason to add one more item, as long as they know the threshold exists.
A bar suits this message better than a popup. It stays visible without interrupting, it is comfortable on a phone, and nobody has to close it to continue. Our floating bar page covers bars in general, and reduce cart abandonment covers the wider checkout picture.
Is it a free shipping progress bar? An honest answer
No. If you need a free shipping progress bar that updates as items go into the basket ("you are SAR 40 away"), Tafsee Popup does not do that today. The script does not read the cart total, and there is no cart-value rule among the display rules. A live meter of that kind usually comes from your theme or from a cart app built for your platform.
What Tafsee Popup does is show a message you write, to the visitors and pages you choose:
- The threshold on every page. "Free delivery on orders over SAR 199."
- A reminder after add to cart. The Adds to cart rule shows a bar once something goes in the basket.
- A bar on the cart page only, using the Page URL rule.
The gallery also has a Cart value nudge bar template with the line "You are AED 45 away from free delivery". That amount is fixed text you type. It does not change with the basket, so use it only where the number is true for everyone who sees it, or rewrite it as a general reminder of the threshold.
A developer can get closer with the JavaScript API: your site passes a label such as shipping: near with TafseePopup.identify(), and a Custom attribute rule shows a different bar for each label. It matches text labels, not amounts, the work is on your side, and custom targeting depends on your plan. Test it on your own store before relying on it.
What to write in the bar
The best free shipping bar is one short sentence with a number in it.
- State the threshold and the currency. "Free shipping over SAR 199" is clearer than "Free shipping on large orders".
- Name the region if it is limited: "Free delivery across the UAE".
- Add the delivery time if it is a strength: "Free next-day delivery in Riyadh over SAR 150".
- One button at most. "Shop now" or a link to your best-selling collection.
Set the threshold a little above your average order value so it pulls baskets up without feeling out of reach. If you ship to several countries, make one bar per country with the Country rule so each visitor sees their own currency.
Tafsee Popup only shows the message. The free shipping rule itself is set in your store's shipping settings, and the two must match. Check the bar whenever you change the threshold.
Add a free shipping bar to Shopify, Salla, Zid or WooCommerce
There is no app to install from a marketplace. You paste one script into your store once, or add it through Google Tag Manager, and every bar and popup you publish afterwards appears without touching the theme again.
- Design. Pick the Free shipping bar template, choose top or bottom, and write your line.
- Show when. All pages, or only product and cart pages. Add the Country or Adds to cart rule if you want it narrower.
- Publish. Paste the script and go live.
For a Shopify free shipping bar, the code goes into theme.liquid of your published theme; the Shopify page has the steps. The Salla and Zid pages cover those platforms, and WooCommerce follows the WordPress steps.
If your theme already has its own announcement bar, switch one of the two off or put the Tafsee bar at the bottom. Two bars stacked at the top push the page down on a phone.
When a free shipping popup is the better choice
The bar is for a standing rule that applies to everyone. A free shipping popup is for a one-off offer aimed at a particular moment.
- Exit intent on the cart page. "Finish your order now and delivery is on us", with a code. See exit-intent popups and cart abandonment.
- A welcome offer for first orders. A free shipping code in exchange for an email, shown through a discount code popup.
- A prize in a game. Free shipping is a popular slice on a wheel. There is also a Free shipping reveal scratch card template.
In each case you create the free shipping code in your store and Tafsee Popup shows it. Do not run the popup and the bar with conflicting terms; if the popup offers free shipping with no minimum, say so plainly.
Free shipping for a limited time
Free shipping with no minimum for a weekend is a strong seasonal offer and often costs less than a store-wide discount. Run it as a second bar with its own dates.
- Add a countdown timer in fixed date mode so the end is visible.
- Give the campaign a date range, and schedule your normal threshold bar to return when it ends.
- Pause the everyday bar for those days so visitors do not see two different shipping rules.
This fits Black Friday, the last days before a holiday delivery cut-off, and national occasions.
