Picreel alternative

A Picreel alternative that does not count pageviews

Picreel sizes its plans by monthly pageviews. Tafsee Popup sizes them by leads and live campaigns, and puts its games and Arabic support on every plan.

If you are comparing tools and want a Picreel alternative, the pricing model is the first thing to look at. Picreel is a popup builder from ProProfs, known for exit-intent offers, with an AI popup designer and a long integrations list. Its plans are sized by monthly pageviews: 5,000 on the free plan, then 50,000, 200,000 and unlimited. Tafsee Popup does not count pageviews at all. Plans follow the number of sites, live campaigns and leads, and the spin wheel that Picreel lists on its Business plan is on Tafsee's free one. Below is what each publishes, including where Picreel is the stronger pick.

Picreel review in brief: what it does well

Picreel presents itself as an AI popup builder and conversion tool, part of the ProProfs family of products. Its homepage leads with exit-intent offers: catching a visitor who is about to leave with a discount, a lead form or a survey. Template types listed include exit popups, nanobars, lead capture forms, wheel of fortune, video popups, exit surveys, timer overlays and full-screen overlays, and the site cites 100+ templates and 15+ overlay styles.

Its newer features are AI-based. According to the site, you can describe what you want and have a popup generated, paste your URL so it picks up your logo, colours and fonts, edit by plain-language instruction, and get an AI summary of your reports. Picreel also cites 700+ integrations, names Shopify, BigCommerce, WordPress and Magento, and says support is available around the clock by phone, chat and email. It offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

One thing to clear up before you choose a plan. The pricing page describes the free account as having all premium features, yet the paid plan lists place exit-intent triggers, the spin wheel and multilingual popups under Business, and A/B testing, integrations and Shopify and WordPress under Enterprise. Ask them which features your plan will include. On Arabic, the page lists multilingual popups "in any language" but does not mention right-to-left layout.

Picreel pricing compared

At the time of review, Picreel pricing is tiered by monthly pageviews. Their FAQ defines a pageview as any time a user lands on one of your pages or reloads it. The prices we could read are the annual-billing ones:

  • Free: $0, described as forever free up to 5,000 pageviews a month, with unlimited campaigns, popups and domains.
  • Essentials: $9.99 a month, billed annually at $119.88. 50,000 pageviews a month, one domain, 100+ templates, targeting and reports.
  • Business: $39.99 a month, billed annually at $479.88. 200,000 pageviews a month, 5 domains, unlimited users, and the plan where exit-intent trigger, spin a wheel coupon, timer overlay, multilingual popups and geolocation targeting are listed.
  • Enterprise: starts at $69.99 a month, annual plans only, billed at $839.88. Unlimited pageviews and domains, and the plan where A/B testing, custom CSS, Shopify and WordPress, 700+ integrations, API and webhooks are listed.

The page advertises savings of up to 50% on annual billing, so month-to-month prices are higher; check their pricing page for those. It also lists a white-label package at $300 a year to remove "Powered By" links, a 15-day free trial, and a 30-day money-back guarantee. It does not say what happens when you pass your pageview allowance.

Tafsee Popup pricing

Tafsee Popup plans are priced by sites, live campaigns and leads stored per month. Visitors and pageviews are not counted, and reaching a limit does not switch your live popups off.

  • Free: $0. 1 site, 3 live campaigns, 500 leads a month, with a small Tafsee badge.
  • Starter: $9/month, or $84 billed yearly. 1 site, 10 live campaigns, 2,000 leads a month, no badge.
  • Growth: $19/month, or $180 billed yearly. 3 sites, 15 live campaigns, 5,000 leads a month, A/B testing.
  • Pro: $49/month, or $468 billed yearly. 10 sites, unlimited live campaigns, 25,000 leads a month, HubSpot and Zoho CRM.
  • Business: $99/month, or $948 billed yearly. Unlimited sites, campaigns and leads, priority support.

Paid plans come with a 14-day trial. Full details are on the Tafsee Popup pricing page. On entry price the two are close: Picreel's Essentials works out at $9.99 a month on annual billing, and Tafsee's Starter is $9 a month or $84 a year. The difference is what each price includes. Read the feature list for the tier you would actually buy, in both tools.

Where Tafsee Popup differs from Picreel

What the plan counts

Pageview pricing counts every page load, including visitors who never see a popup. Tafsee Popup counts sites, live campaigns and leads stored each month. A store with 60,000 pageviews a month is past Picreel's 50,000 tier whatever it collects. In Tafsee Popup the same store picks a plan by how many leads it stores.

Which plan the features sit on

In Tafsee Popup, exit intent and all 39 display rules, every template and every game are on every plan, including Free. The plan gates are A/B testing from Growth at $19 and HubSpot and Zoho CRM from Pro at $49. Picreel's page lists exit-intent and the wheel under Business, and A/B testing and integrations under Enterprise.

More than a wheel

Picreel lists a spin wheel. Tafsee Popup has spin to win plus scratch card, pick a gift, mystery box, slot machine and a quick quiz. Each sits behind an email or phone field and reveals a discount code you created in your store.

Arabic stores

Tafsee Popup's app works in Arabic and English, layouts mirror for right-to-left, and templates cover Ramadan, Eid and White Friday. There are install guides for Salla and Zid alongside Shopify and WordPress.

Abandoned carts, honestly

Both tools show an offer to a shopper who is leaving the cart. Neither popup replaces a recovery email or WhatsApp message sent afterwards. Our cart abandonment page explains what a popup can and cannot do there.

When Picreel is the better choice

Picreel is the better choice if you want AI to do the building. Generating a popup from a description, matching your brand from a URL and editing by instruction are on its site, and Tafsee Popup has none of them: you start from a template and edit by hand. It also offers exit surveys and video popups as named formats.

It is stronger on reach and support too. Picreel cites 700+ integrations against our nine, names BigCommerce and Magento, and says support is available 24/7 by phone, chat and email, with a dedicated account manager on Enterprise. Its free plan allows unlimited campaigns and domains within 5,000 pageviews, where Tafsee's allows 3 live campaigns on one site. And a high-traffic site that wants unlimited pageviews and domains at a fixed yearly price should look at its Enterprise plan.

How to move from Picreel to Tafsee Popup

There is no automatic importer, so moving from Picreel means rebuilding the campaigns that earn their place. For most stores that is two or three popups, not twenty.

  1. Create a free Tafsee Popup account and add your site.
  2. Paste the Tafsee snippet into your site's header, or add it through Google Tag Manager. There is no plugin or store app to install.
  3. Rebuild your best campaigns from the template library, and set when each one shows.
  4. Connect where leads should go: Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Google Sheets, Slack, Zapier, Make or a webhook, and HubSpot or Zoho CRM on the Pro plan.
  5. Export your existing contacts from Picreel before you cancel, then remove its script, plugin or app so visitors never see two popups at once.

Before you cancel, note which Picreel campaigns fire on exit intent and on which pages, then recreate those rules in Tafsee Popup so the same offers show in the same places.
